Named in memory of one of Chop’s most dedicated volunteers and board members, the Judy Fromm Scholarship Fund covers the cost of Chop’s membership for families who aren’t able to afford the annual $60 fee.

Judy Fromm
1947-2017

Judith “Judy” Ann Fromm was a long time Santa Rosa resident and devoted supporter of Chop’s Teen Club. Growing up, Judy supported her family, saving enough to buy her family’s first car and putting herself through college, earning a Bachelor of Science in Personnel Management from Sacramento State University. Judy married her husband Peter in 1983 and had two children, Stephen and Tina.

Judy served as an instrumental member of Chop’s Board of Directors since before the doors opened in 2001 and was dedicated to helping the Work-Ready program succeed. She saw the amazing opportunity the Work-Ready program provided to local teens, and wanted to ensure that all teens had access to it. Judy’s support of Chop’s, as well as the Assistance League and the Historic Railroad Square Association, led to her receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County in 2005.

Judy’s legacy at Chop’s goes beyond the numerous years she spent supporting the organization through her leadership and expertise. In her honor and memory, her family has established The Judy Fromm Scholarship, to help any Sonoma County teen who cannot afford Chop’s membership or program fees. Her dedication and encouragement of local youth will live on for many years to come.
